Short version: Shopify Analytics is your source of truth for what the store actually sold. It is bundled with every paid Shopify plan; current plan rates are on shopify.com/pricing, which is the only place this page will point you for a number. What it does not do, and by design was never built to do, is watch whether the Meta Pixel, GTM, and GA4 tags you already have still look present on the public storefront. PixelProof is that detect/monitor: Monitor-Only $29/mo · Starter $99/mo · Agency $149/mo. PixelProof does not replace Shopify Analytics. Honest PixelProof stack: Monitor-Only $29/mo · Starter $99/mo · Agency $149/mo.
Disclosure: PixelProof is our product. Every capability claim about Shopify below links to Shopify's own plan documentation, checked September 15, 2026. We do not restate a Shopify plan price here. Shopify is a registered trademark of Shopify Inc. Support: support@pixeluptime.com.
Shopify Analytics is the built-in reporting dashboard included with every paid Shopify plan, accessible in the admin under Analytics > Reports and Analytics > Overview. It surfaces store-level metrics calculated directly from Shopify's own backend records: total sales, orders, average order value, conversion rate, sessions by device, sessions by traffic source, top products, and returning-customer rate. Because the source data is Shopify's own order database rather than a browser-side pixel, those numbers are the most authoritative reference for what happened at the transaction layer — they are not subject to ad blockers, iOS 14.5 opt-out, or storefront-loader gaps.
Reports are not the upsell this page once said they were. Shopify's own Basic plan documentation states the Basic plan has "access to all reports, including the ability to create custom reports" built with data explorations; the Grow plan documentation lists the same report set, and the Advanced plan documentation adds predicted values on certain customer reports. All three checked September 15, 2026. The Marketing report surfaces campaign spend and platform-attributed conversions when you connect the official sales-channel apps for Meta & Facebook, Google & YouTube, TikTok, or Pinterest — the data flows in from those apps' own APIs after each app installs and manages its underlying tracking pixel on your storefront.
Shopify Analytics does not watch storefront pixel presence. When the Meta & Facebook sales-channel app installs a Meta Pixel on your store, Shopify Analytics does not run recurring checks that the loader still looks present on public product, collection, and cart templates. It has no reason to — storefront-HTML verification is not the product's job. What Shopify does surface is whether the sales-channel app connection is technically healthy at the app-configuration layer, which is a much shallower check.
The specific failure mode this leaves unguarded is a silent partial loader gap: a theme edit or an agency snippet update removes the Meta Pixel from one page-template type only (say, product-detail pages) while leaving the app-level connection technically green and Purchase events still arriving from a different code path. Shopify Analytics keeps reporting accurate revenue because its source is orders, not pixels. Meta Ads Manager keeps reporting some conversions because Purchase is still arriving. ViewContent loaders from product-detail pages can disappear from the public HTML. Nothing on Shopify's dashboard names that gap. PixelProof does not claim we saw Meta's received events or recovered ROAS — we watch the public HTML layer Shopify Analytics does not cover.
Shopify Analytics is not a separate SKU — it is bundled with the Shopify plan you already pay for. This page does not print Shopify plan rates. An earlier version did, as a dated HTTP 200 receipt, and that receipt had gone stale: Shopify renames and repackages plans, and the figures could not be re-confirmed from Shopify's own page in this pass. Rather than carry a competitor sticker we cannot stand behind today, we removed it. Load shopify.com/pricing and read the current rates yourself.
PixelProof is not framed as a $99-only or two-tier product. Live prices sit on /meta-monitor/pricing: the honest stack Monitor-Only $29/mo · Starter $99/mo · Agency $149/mo, matching Stripe checkout. Monitor-Only at $29/mo is weekly watch and email break alerts. Paste-ready snippets are Starter+.

No Shopify plan price appears in the grid above, by design: we do not restate a competitor sticker we have not re-fetched from that company's own page today. PixelProof prices are the live Monitor-Only $29/mo · Starter $99/mo · Agency $149/mo stack from PRICING_TIERS. Monitor-Only is on that grid.
A Shopify store doing under roughly $250K/year in revenue with a single organic acquisition channel — say, all-Instagram-driven traffic with no paid Meta spend — is genuinely served by Shopify's built-in Analytics plus a light-touch review of Instagram Insights or Meta Business Suite's organic reporting. There is no meaningful pixel-optimization decision at that stage, so a storefront detect/monitor at Monitor-Only $29/mo · Starter $99/mo · Agency $149/mo does not replace any of it. If the question is reporting depth, that is a question for Shopify's own plan documentation, not a monitor decision.
The line where Shopify Analytics stops being enough is the line where paid acquisition becomes a material fraction of revenue. Once you are running Meta Ads seriously, Meta's optimization depends on receiving a healthy event stream. Shopify Analytics keeps reporting correct revenue because it is reading from the order database; Meta Ads Manager keeps reporting some attributed conversions; nothing in native Analytics names a missing storefront loader. If the question is "is the Meta Pixel still looking present after a theme change or the Aug 26, 2026 checkout upgrade," PixelProof is the right layer and Shopify Analytics is not a substitute. Monitor-Only at $29/mo is that watch: recurring storefront scans and email break alerts. Paste-ready fix snippets are Starter+ ($99/mo and $149/mo) for detectable storefront findings — not bundled into Monitor-Only, and not a substitute for Shopify's order reports.
How the scan works — public HTML only, no checkout X-ray, no Ads Manager login — lives on the methodology page. Limits, trial, and refunds are on the FAQ.
A useful mental model: the tracking stack for a serious Shopify DTC brand has three distinct layers, and each layer wants a different tool. At the transaction layer, Shopify Analytics is authoritative — that data is the ground truth for what sold. At the ad-platform layer, Meta Ads Manager (and equivalents on Google, TikTok, Pinterest) is authoritative for what each ad platform observed and attributed. Between those two layers sits the pixel-and-tag infrastructure — the pieces of JavaScript actually looking present in the public storefront HTML that translate customer behavior into events each ad platform can consume. Shopify Analytics does not verify that layer. Meta Ads Manager does not verify that layer either; Meta's Events Manager surfaces some diagnostics, but nothing that proactively emails you the first time a loader stops looking present on a specific public template. That is the layer a dedicated detect/monitor covers, and it is where PixelProof lives.
Shopify's own developer changelog has documented for well over a year that the Additional Scripts field on non-Plus checkout pages is being deprecated on August 26, 2026, in favor of the Web Pixels API for tracking. Every Meta Pixel, GA4 tag, or GTM snippet installed via Additional Scripts on a non-Plus Shopify store on that date will stop executing on checkout. Shopify Analytics itself is unaffected — it derives its numbers from Shopify's order database, not from browser pixels, so its reports keep working. Meta Ads Manager, GA4, and any downstream attribution model, however, can silently degrade for stores still relying on Additional Scripts. PixelProof reads public storefront HTML against the Web Pixels API and Meta's Pixel documentation and emails when those storefront findings change. That is detect/monitor, not a claim we X-ray checkout, Additional Scripts, or checkout.liquid. Monitor-Only at $29/mo is that watch. Paste-ready snippets are Starter+ — not bundled into Monitor-Only.
This is a hypothetical scenario, not a real customer case. Imagine a Shopify store on the $79/month Shopify plan running $12K/month in Meta Ads. After a theme swap, Shopify Analytics keeps showing accurate daily orders (the order database is unaffected). Meta Ads Manager shows Purchase events still coming in (the Meta & Facebook sales-channel app's server-side Conversions API integration is unaffected). What silently changed: the new theme's product-detail template does not include the browser-side Meta Pixel snippet the previous theme had. ViewContent loaders from product-detail pages drop out of the public HTML. The team sees ROAS drift and treats it as a creative or audience problem. A Monitor-Only $29/mo watch layered on the storefront would have flagged a loader/signature change the same cycle. That is not a claim we saw Purchase volume drop, ingested Shopify Analytics, or recovered ROAS, and it is not a 24/7 SLA. If you also want paste-ready guidance for a detectable storefront finding, that is Starter or Agency — not Monitor-Only, and not Shopify's analytics desk.
Shopify Analytics is bundled into the Shopify plan a merchant already pays for; PixelProof's whole bill is Monitor-Only $29/mo · Starter $99/mo · Agency $149/mo. A merchant comparing sticker prices without noticing that one product reports orders and the other watches storefront loaders is comparing two different kinds of numbers. We do not run save-$ theater against Shopify's plan bill. Monitor-Only does not include the snippet library. Annual billing is 25% off (Monitor-Only $261/yr, Starter $891/yr, Agency $1341/yr). Live Stripe checkout is on /meta-monitor/pricing, including a Monitor-Only deep link at /meta-monitor/pricing?checkout=monitor_only&utm_source=site&utm_medium=shared&utm_campaign=pp_monitor&utm_content=monitor_checkout_shared.
The free storefront scan is a soft paywall, not a brick wall. This browser gets 3 free scans, plus 2 more if you leave an email, then a ~24-hour cooldown. When the budget is used we ask you to start Monitor-Only or come back later. We do not hard-lock the product, invent remaining seats, or call the next scan "premium locked." If localStorage is missing (private mode), the gate fails open so you can still scan. The standalone free-scan page also uses a short-lived session cookie (one scan per hour) as a separate abuse control — still not a paywall brick. Checkout attaches a 7-day trial on paid plans, including Monitor-Only. Cancel before day 8 and you should not be charged — see Account → Subscription.
PixelProof is a compliance monitoring service, not a certification or legal advice service. Monitoring cannot guarantee 100% detection of every pixel breakage or Meta API deprecation. Merchants remain responsible for their own tracking compliance.
Shopify native Analytics dashboard, bundled with every paid Shopify plan, covers store-level sales, orders, customers, and marketing performance data derived from Shopify own order and session records. Per Shopify own plan documentation, checked September 15, 2026, the Basic plan has "access to all reports, including the ability to create custom reports" built with data explorations, and the Grow plan carries the same report set. The Advanced plan adds predicted values on certain customer reports. The Marketing report surfaces campaign spend and attribution when you connect the Meta and Facebook, Google and YouTube, TikTok, or Pinterest sales-channel apps. What Shopify Analytics does not do is watch whether the pixel scripts those sales-channel apps installed still look present on public storefront HTML.
On capability, Shopify own plan documentation is explicit, checked September 15, 2026: the Basic plan already includes access to all reports and the ability to create custom reports with data explorations, and the Grow plan carries the same report set. The Advanced plan adds predicted values on certain customer reports and the most comprehensive report coverage. Correction: an earlier version of this page described Shopify custom reports as an upper-tier-only feature. That was wrong, and it understated what the lower Shopify plans already include. On price, load https://www.shopify.com/pricing and read the current rates there. We do not restate a Shopify plan price on this page, because plan names and rates change and we will not print a sticker we have not re-fetched.
Not really, no. Shopify Analytics is the store-level reports dashboard that ships with the plan you already pay for. PixelProof is a detect/monitor that watches whether your storefront-side Meta Pixel, GTM container, and GA4 tag still look present on the public HTML — especially around Shopify's Aug 26, 2026 checkout upgrade. PixelProof does not replace Shopify Analytics. A store can use both, and often should. Monitor-Only at $29/mo is weekly watch and email break alerts. Paste-ready fix snippets ship on Starter ($99/mo) and Agency ($149/mo) for detectable storefront findings — not on Monitor-Only, and not as a Shopify Analytics report.
The official Meta & Facebook sales-channel app on Shopify installs and manages a Meta Pixel + Conversions API integration, and it will surface a connected state and a rough event-firing count in its own dashboard. That is an app-configuration health check, not a storefront-HTML presence watch. A theme edit can remove a loader from one public template while the app-level connection stays green. Shopify Analytics keeps reporting accurate revenue because its source is orders, not pixels. PixelProof does not ingest the sales-channel app's stream or Shopify order-level truth.
A store doing under roughly $250K/year with a single organic acquisition channel — say, all-Instagram-driven traffic and no paid Meta spend — is genuinely served by Shopify's built-in reports plus the platform's own organic consoles. There is no meaningful pixel-optimization decision at that stage, so a storefront detect/monitor at Monitor-Only $29/mo · Starter $99/mo · Agency $149/mo does not replace Shopify Analytics and would not even try to. If you actually need deeper reporting, that is a question for Shopify own plan documentation — do not buy a monitor for that job.
A Shopify store owner whose Meta ROAS looks off, who is not sure if the pixel is even looking present after a recent theme change or checkout upgrade, and who does not want another analytics dashboard to answer that one question — that is the shape of problem PixelProof is built for. Honest stack Monitor-Only $29/mo · Starter $99/mo · Agency $149/mo. Monitor-Only at $29/mo is watch-and-alert only. Paste-ready snippets are Starter+ — not bundled into Monitor-Only. It is also the narrower answer for an agency running 3-15 Shopify client stores that needs weekly automated storefront-presence checks across all of them.
No. Monitor-Only ($29/mo or $261/yr) has no fix snippets and no PDF reports — weekly storefront watch and email break alerts only. Paste-ready snippets for detectable storefront findings ship on Starter ($99/mo, 3 stores) and Agency ($149/mo, 15 stores). You or your developer paste and verify. Snippets are not a concrete fix path we run on your theme, not a magic auto-install, and not coverage for checkout surfaces the storefront scan cannot see. Monitor-Only is not a fix-pack.
Yes. Shopify Analytics sits at the transaction layer — that data is the ground truth for what sold. Meta Ads Manager (and equivalents) sit at the ad-platform layer. Between those layers sits the pixel-and-tag infrastructure on public storefront HTML. Shopify Analytics does not watch that layer. PixelProof does not replace Shopify's order reports. A Monitor-Only watch is a cheap hedge on the storefront input layer — not a substitute for Shopify Analytics, not a guaranteed ROAS recovery, and not a 24/7 SLA.
No. PixelProof uses a soft paywall: this browser gets a small number of free scans (3, plus 2 more if you leave an email), then a nudge toward Monitor-Only at $29/mo. After about 24 hours the free budget can reset. If localStorage is unavailable (private mode, blocked storage), the gate fails open — we do not brick the scanner. The /meta-monitor/free-scan landing also rate-limits to one scan per hour per session cookie. None of that is fake scarcity, a remaining-seat countdown, or a “locked premium” wall.
